As important participants, witnesses, and beneficiaries, multinationals have played positive roles in China's 40-plus years of reform and opening-up.

The country has been making unswerving efforts to improve its business environment to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with multinationals as part of its endeavors to promote a higher-level of opening-up and to foster high-quality development under the new "dual-circulation "development pattern.

The just-concluded second Qingdao Multinationals Summit, which was held on July 15 and 16 in the eastern trade hub of Qingdao, Shandong province, served as a platform to boost dialogue between multinationals and political and academic communities on building an open global economy.

More than 10,000 participants from around the world attended the summit, both in person and online. They included a total of 390 representatives of Fortune Global 500 companies, 517 industry leaders, and 15 diplomatic envoys, all sharing insights into various issues concerning "Multinationals and China."
