China's Ren Ziwei won the men's 1,000-meter short track speed skating final at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics on Feb 7, earning China's second gold of the 2022 Games. Ren's teammate Li Wenlong, 21, from Qingdao, Shandong province, won silver with a time of 1:29.917, marking the first Winter Olympic medal for Shandong.

"It's my first Winter Olympics and I didn't have too much pressure. I just tried to move forward and go as far as I could," said Li.

"The medal is a result of my hard work over the past four years. I've learned a lot by competing with other talented and experienced skaters," he added. "This silver medal is really encouraging for me, but it's just the beginning."

Li will compete in the men's 5,000-meter relay next, and said he will continue to work hard to achieve his goals for the Beijing Games.
