An exhibition center for displaying Shandong's traditional handmade items will be built at Jinan's Shandong International Fashion Creative Center.

The exhibition center aims to develop into a platform that integrates cultural exhibitions, experiences and sales to promote the image of handcrafts in Shandong.

Shandong province in East China is regarded as an important cradle of Chinese civilization, having generated a diverse range of civilizations, including refined and sophisticated artworks and handicrafts. The province currently is home to 186 and 1,073 intangible cultural heritage items on the national and provincial lists, respectively.
