Binzhou city – located in East China's Shandong province – is currently said to be going from strength to strength.

Last year was seen as a great time for Binzhou, which paved the way for the construction of a high-quality city, with the depth of its urban industries providing confidence and impetus for its high-quality development.

According to statistics, in 2021 Binzhou had 37 products with production volumes or market share ranked number one either globally or nationally. Of these, four had top position in their global market with regards to production volumes or market share.

In 2023, the number of products in Binzhou with production volumes or market share ranking first globally or nationally rose to 53, with 15 holding the top global position in their areas of endeavor.

These 53 champion products are mainly distributed across eight major industries: aluminum, textiles, chemicals, equipment manufacturing, new materials, grain and food processing, animal husbandry and aquaculture, as well as the medical and health care sector.

Geographically, the production of these 53 champion products has now spread across all counties and districts of Binzhou, establishing a more balanced and coordinated regional distribution structure.

In just two years, moving from 37 to 53, the number of products in Binzhou ranked first nationally has grown by 30 percent. At the same time, from just four to 15, the number of global champion products has increased nearly fourfold.

In 2023, Binzhou's several traditional industries stabilized, resulting in incremental growth for champion products.

New champion products, however, showcased innovative sci-tech progress, bringing about increased profit margins. For instance, the chemical industry has grown from 12 items in 2021 to 14 in 2023, while the textile industry has surged from two items in 2021 to six in 2024.

The achievements are said to be testament to the continuous efforts of all enterprises and entrepreneurs in Binzhou, who have been actively engaged in technological innovation, talent innovation, model innovation and management innovation.
