The Shandong-Hong Kong green low-carbon and innovative high-quality development conference convened in Jinan, Shandong on July 11, bringing together over 700 participants from both Shandong and Hong Kong to deepen exchanges on green finance, green technology, and sustainable smart city development.

Patrick Lau, deputy executive director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, highlighted Hong Kong's role as a platform connecting Shandong enterprises to global talent, capital, and markets. He emphasized the potential for mutually beneficial collaboration in green development and other areas, building on the two regions' strengths. He also proposed three key areas for future cooperation: strengthening green finance collaboration, promoting the development of green technology, and expanding international trade platforms.

Two parallel forums attracted representatives from Hong Kong enterprises across green finance, capital management, innovative technology, new material applications, real estate investment, infrastructure, and energy services.

At the forum on Shandong-Hong Kong green finance cooperation, attendees from both Shandong and Hong Kong delved into green financial product innovation and green investment and financing mechanisms, resulting in the signing of several cooperation agreements. Hong Kong's expertise and advanced models in green finance injected strong impetus into Shandong's green development.

The forum on the development and application of green technology focused on green technology exploration directions and application cases, showcasing cooperation achievements in new energy, energy conservation, environmental protection, and smart cities.

Hong Kong's innovative technology enterprises joined hands with local enterprises in Shandong to explore green technology application prospects and vast market opportunities, laying a solid foundation for the coordinated development of the green technology industry in the two regions.
