Shandong culture shines in Singapore

Print PrintOn Jan 9, Singapore kicked off its Chinese New Year celebrations with an opening ceremony.
From Jan 10 to 11, the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the China Cultural Centre in Singapore, hosted four Singapore-China (Shandong) "Happy Chinese New Year" art performances in Singapore. These performances displayed a diverse range of Chinese arts, including folk music, acrobatics, Peking Opera, and martial arts, captivating audiences with their vibrant energy and cultural richness.

Alongside the cultural performances, a Singapore-China (Shandong) Inbound Tourism Market Presentation was held on the afternoon of Jan 10, jointly organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the China National Tourist Office in Singapore.

Attended by over 30 representatives from both Singaporean and Shandong travel agencies, the event provided a platform for the two sides to discuss tourism product development, market promotion, service enhancement, and youth tourism.
The presentation also showcased Shandong's rich cultural resources and tourism products and introduced incentive policies for the tourism industry.
To further enrich the cultural exchange, a Chinese New Year painting exhibition and a hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) exhibition were also held, providing Singaporeans with a deeper understanding of Shandong's rich cultural heritage and tourism offerings.
