Tai'an city in East China's Shandong province invited nearly a hundred domestic and foreign buyers from around 40 countries including the United Kingdom, Russia, India, and Pakistan to come to a trade conference for direct procurement and business negotiations on Jan 9.

Additionally, 92 local companies in industries such as new energy, new materials, and high-end chemicals displayed their high-quality products, engaging in one-on-one exchanges with professional buyers from both domestic and international markets to facilitate global trade.

In recent years, Tai'an has made continuous efforts to promote new industrialization. Currently, the city has 1,566 large-scale industrial enterprises spanning 37 industrial categories. The city's foreign trade volume has continued to expand, with a continuously optimized trade structure.

According to official data, from January to November 2024, the city had a total import and export volume of 48.21 billion yuan ($6.58 billion), representing a year-on-year growth of 18.5 percent, the second fastest in the province. The export proportion of new materials, chemicals, and related products exceeded 25 percent, with outstanding enterprises such as Taishan Fiberglass and Shandong Huayang Pesticide Chemical Group emerging as pillars of high-quality development in Tai'an's distinctive industries.

According to incomplete statistics, more than 20 preliminary cooperation intentions were reached during this event, with intended orders totaling approximately $3 million.
