Tai'an in Shandong province launched a consumption season on Jan 18 to promote trade-in programs focusing on smart products like home appliances and smartphones. The aim is to boost consumer confidence and stimulate consumption vitality.

Since 2024, Tai'an has prioritized promoting consumption and expanding domestic demand. The city has organized activities around the trade-in of consumer goods, including over 230 policy promotions and key activities at the city and county levels. They have distributed a total of 482 million yuan ($66.22 million) in subsidies for automobiles, home appliances, and other goods, driving consumption by 36.9 billion yuan.
