On the day of Lantern Festival, Shandong athletes gave a strong final showing at the Yabuli Ski Resort in Harbin during the 9th Asian Winter Games, earning one gold, one silver, and one bronze, bringing their total medal tally to nine.

During the Games, the eight Shandong athletes competed in three major events across 14 disciplines, receiving three gold, four silver, and two bronze medals, along with four fourth-place finishes, one sixth-place finish, and one seventh-place finish.

In cross-country skiing, the Chinese team of Li Minglin and three teammates staged a remarkable comeback in the men's 4 x 7.5km race, clinching the final gold for China at the Harbin Asian Winter Games.

"This Lantern Festival is sure to be an extraordinary and unforgettable holiday, as our province's athletes, led by Li Minglin's victory, successfully concluded the Harbin Asian Winter Games!" said Zhang Haizhong, director of the Shandong Provincial Winter Sports Management Center of the Shandong Provincial Sports Bureau.
