This Feb 8 welcomes Rain Water, the second term of the 24 solar terms. It signifies the upcoming spring rain season, and kickstarts the busy spring planting and marine farming season in Shandong province.

On the Allen Bay Marine Ranch in Shandong's Rongcheng, workers drive boats out to sea at sunrise for operations. During the rainy season and the arrival of spring, a bustling scene unfolds at various marine ranches in the city. Workers navigate aquaculture boats back and forth in the maritime fields, arranging and installing kelp farming floats, clearing seaweed on the aquaculture raft frames, and engaging in tasks such as kelp tube maintenance.
