Print PrintQingdao in Shandong has become a major international shipping hub in recent years, using its sea port, land port, and airport to expand its global logistics network.
On Jan 17, the Qingdao – Uzbekistan Tashkent – Czech Ostrava all-cargo air route was launched, marking the first air route in Shandong province to reach Central Europe. Currently, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport operates eight domestic cargo routes, nine international ones.
Qingdao Port, with its strategic location and advanced facilities, has established a comprehensive global shipping network. It features over 230 container export routes, connecting more than 700 ports in over 180 countries and regions, making it a leader among northern Chinese ports.
Last Christmas, the 1,000th China-Europe train of the year departed from the SCO Demonstration Zone in Qingdao. To date, the city has operated over 4,000 China-Europe trains, with 32 regular routes reaching 54 cities in 23 SCO and Belt and Road countries. This has created an international logistics corridor linking East Asia, Europe, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.
The multimodal transportation center in the SCO Demonstration Zone has become a logistics hub for neighboring countries to reach Belt and Road countries. Goods from South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia can be transported much faster and cheaper to Central Asia via Qingdao Port and the China-Europe train.
