Steve Fuller highlighted China's role in promoting global dialogue and praised the forum's emphasis on "harmony in diversity" during the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations in Qufu, Shandong province on July 9.

As a fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences, a fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and the Auguste Comte chair professor at the University of Warwick, Fuller noted that Confucian thought offers an alternative to standardized global approaches by advocating mutual respect.
