Boshan district in Zibo, Shandong is one of the originators of Chinese liuli or colored glass culture. The area's colored glass firing techniques have been passed down for centuries and was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2014. Artisans transform molten glass into swans, flowers, and other works of art through blowing, shaping, coloring, and timing.
Now, Boshan in Zibo is China's largest colored glass production and distribution hub, with over 5,000 practitioners. Its colored glass products have been sold to more than 100 countries and regions.
