Guangyuan's economy continues stable recovery in 2021

Guangyuan in Southwest China's Sichuan province released its economic data for 2021 at a press conference on Jan 20.

The city's economy continued its stable recovery last year, seeing improved growth performance amid a complicated and volatile economic environment brought about by the COVID-19 epidemic.

Huang Yan, director of the city's bureau of statistics, said the city's total output value reached 111.63 billion yuan ($17.59 billion), an increase of 8.2 percent over the previous year.

The annual added value of the agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery industries was 20.4 billion yuan. The annual added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 9.9 percent year-on-year, with their product sales rate hitting 98.6 percent.

The service industry saw accelerated recovery, especially the hospitality and food service sectors; the consumer market continued improvement, although annual consumer prices rose slightly. Investment in fixed assets increased by 11.1 percent year-on-year.

Residents' incomes grew steadily. The annual disposable income of urban residents was 39,008 yuan per capita, a year-on-year increase of 9.1 percent; the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 15,925 yuan, a rise of 10.8 percent compared with the previous year.

In 2021, more than 39,600 new jobs were created, reaching 118.3 percent of the city's target.
