Guangyuan city of Southwest China's Sichuan province kicked off the construction of 220 projects, representing a total investment of 31.3 billion yuan ($ 4.38 billion), at a ceremony on May 31.

The main venue of the launch ceremony was held at the construction site of a comprehensive utilization and deep-processing project of green and recyclable aluminum materials in Jinjian industrial park of Jian'ge county. Other counties and the Guangyuan Economic and Technological Development Zone also held their own side launches.

With a total annual investment of 14.4 billion yuan (about $2 billion), the newly launched projects cover industrial sectors, the building of infrastructure and the improvement of public wellbeing.

In his speech at the launch ceremony, He Shuping, Party secretary of Guangyuan, highlighted the importance of projects to economic development and asked the city to further increase the efficiency of its investment, improve its business environment and adopt high-quality administrative services to guarantee project construction.

Dong Li, mayor of Guangyuan, said that the city will give priority to business attraction and make full use of capital, land and energy resources in the process of project building. He added that project owners and construction units should adhere to quality-first and safety-first development approaches, make scientific arrangements of construction pace, carry out whole-process project management, and build their projects into demonstration zones.
