On Dec 30, 2023, in the lead up to New Year's Day, the cultural center of Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province, held a special runway show where the stars were ordinary people.

During the show, 145 women in their 20s to 70s presented traditional Chinese fashion in 10 groups.

The event started with the performance of "Chinese Cheongsam". Models in cheongsam glided across the stage with light steps and high spirits, attracting a cluster of passers-by.

A woman surnamed Shi from Chengdu, capital of the province, who runs a small business in Guangyuan, felt pleased to be invited to the catwalk. She said that the atmosphere was so inspiring that it made her love Guangyuan even more.

The other nine groups of models also gave a dazzling display of Chinese etiquette and elegant attire from different time periods.

An 85-year-old local resident surnamed Cao went to the show with the support of her daughter. "The clothes are very beautiful," she said, "I want to take a photo and send it to my girls."
