In Wangcang county, Guangyuan, Sichuan province, tea is not only a beverage. It has been infused into culinary traditions, giving rise to the distinctive Micang Tea Banquet.

The unique dining experience integrates locally grown tea leaves into a variety of dishes, using the rich aromas of tea to offer a new interpretation of traditional Chinese cuisine. Signature dishes from the Micang Tea Banquet are as follows:

Yellow tea with mountain mushrooms

This cold dish features a medley of mushrooms, including prized morels, simmered in yellow tea and rich broth for over three hours before being chilled and artfully plated. The result is a fragrant, nutrient-rich dish packed with amino acids and deep umami flavor.
