These high-altitude rhododendrons are primarily found in the Yanjing River Grand Canyon Forest Park, thriving in forests above 2,000 meters in elevation. Covering an area of around 800 hectares, the rhododendron trees in this region typically grow to heights of five to six meters, with many specimens over a century old.

Among them stands a remarkable highlight — a tree dubbed the "King of Rhododendrons", which is nearly 900 years old. Its towering presence and vibrant blossoms have become a symbol of the region's unique alpine flora.

"This is the height of the blooming season, and the flowers are expected to last through early May," said an official from the county's authority of culture, tourism and sports.

Locals and tourists alike are encouraged to seize the moment — the breathtaking scenery won't wait, and those who miss it will have to wait another year.
