Nii Quaynor, a Ghanaian professor and web pioneer often known as the father of the African internet, sees great promise in the Digital Silk Road for bridging global divides.

Calling it a challenging task that involved various socioeconomic factors like education and digital savviness, he nonetheless believed that the Digital Silk Road would help promote cross-border trade and infrastructure cooperation, thus bringing up “those who have not yet benefited from digital development.”

“In my opinion, the Digital Silk Road is a good vehicle to stimulate whatever actions it takes to narrow the digital divide,” he said in an exclusive interview in Xi’an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province while attending the World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum.
