Youth are the driving force behind global innovation, progress and positive change. Their energy, creativity and fresh perspectives are vital to building a sustainable and inclusive digital future.

Consistently focusing on youth development, the World Internet Conference (WIC) launched the World Internet Conference Global Youth Leadership Program (GYLP) in 2023, making it an international high-level platform for global youth to actively engage in internet development and governance. Over the past two years, the program has attracted outstanding young participants from 85 countries and regions across six continents.

To further build consensus and inspire more youth to play a part in creating a more inclusive, prosperous, peaceful, secure and equitable cyberspace, the global youth leaders of the GYLP have jointly drafted the World Internet Conference Global Youth Leaders Initiative.

The initiative calls on global youth to actively participate in the formulation and promotion of fair and equitable digital policies, advance frontier technologies to benefit all of humanity, engage in innovation practices in digital technologies and industries, and promote the development of an inclusive and accessible digital society.

The initiative urges youth worldwide to take practical actions to contribute to global internet development and governance, expressing expectation for working with them to jointly building a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
