A delegation from Namibia visited Nantong Vocational University (NTVU) from July 13 to 17 for site inspections, seminars and project advancement meetings aimed at expanding and strengthening the Jiangsu Namibia College (Zhenghe College) initiative.
During the visit, the delegation toured NTVU's Zhongxiu and Qingnian Road campuses, visiting facilities including an industry-education integration training center for intelligent manufacturing and digital technology, a national-level workshop, and an intelligent electronics R&D laboratory. They also met with Namibian students currently enrolled at the university to review their training and support outcomes.
The Zhenghe College is a provincial-level overseas education project developed by NTVU in partnership with Namibian institutions. The initiative adopts a multilateral cooperation model combining institutional collaboration, industry integration, local implementation and regulatory compliance, filling a gap in Namibia's vocational education.
The college's two core programs — Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, and Construction Engineering Technology — have been submitted for official accreditation by Namibian authorities and are expected to be fully incorporated into the country's national education system.
The delegation's visit has further strengthened NTVU's international reputation in vocational education and solidified the multilateral cooperation framework.
Moving forward, the university will use Zhenghe College in Namibia as its flagship platform to scale up the training of globally competitive talent, deepen the overseas integration of industry and education, and expand people‑to‑people exchanges between China and Africa. It will continue to share its vocational education standards and hands‑on experience with international partners, with the goal of establishing a model for China‑Africa cooperation in this field.
