Nantong Vocational University kicks off camp for overseas Chinese youths

A 10-day summer camp for overseas Chinese youths at Nantong Vocational University commenced in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on July 21.

The 38 participants from the United States and the Netherlands will explore intangible cultural heritage and modern technology while reconnecting with their roots.

The camp coincides with the 70th anniversary of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. At the opening ceremony, Ai Hui, vice-chairperson of the Jiangsu Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, declared the camp open.

Cultural experience activities include visits to Nantong Museum and the Chinese Abacus Museum, along with hands-on workshops in tie-dyeing, paper-cutting, and calligraphy. They will also take part in a friendly soccer match and a bonfire party.

In addition, participants are set to tour NTVU's smart transport training and industry collaboration base, as well as its digital transport park. There, they can observe practical applications of intelligent manufacturing and digital mobility.
