Jinshan welcomes two new foreign-funded R&D centers
Jinshan district, Shanghai, has strengthened its position as a regional innovation center with the recent certification of two foreign-funded R&D centers by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. This brings the total number of such centers in the district to 20, signaling rising international confidence in its industrial ecosystem.
Established in 1995 as a Sino-Japanese joint venture, Shanghai Jinzhu Color Co Ltd specializes in manufacturing synthetic resin colorants and functional additives compliant with global standards including EU's ROHS, USA's FDA, and Japanese PL certifications.

Its R&D hub, equipped with scanning electron microscopes and differential scanning calorimeters, leverages Japanese headquarters' databases to accelerate product development for automotive, pharmaceutical, and renewable energy sectors.
A Hong Kong-Taiwan joint venture founded in 2006, Shanghai Sml Co Ltd leads China's RFID smart label industry with 1.5 billion annual units supplied to global brands like ZARA and Tesco.

Its R&D team, collaborating with Hong Kong headquarters, has developed 43 patents and IoT-enabled solutions that digitize traditional apparel labeling. The company holds accolades including China's Little Giant certification.
