Alibaba.com officially launched its localized service center — Shanghai Heart & Soul Network Technology Co Ltd — in Dachang town, Baoshan district, on June 16. Baoshan, a core area in Shanghai's "Northern Transformation" — the transformation and development of the northern area of Shanghai from industrial zones to innovative hubs — offers huge advantages for e-commerce firms, including convenient logistics at Wusongkou and Baoshan Station. Its focus on six key industries, backed by strong governmental support in finance, law, and taxation, also supports an ideal business environment.
The launch event brought together 40 Shanghai-based foreign trade enterprises. The regional head of Alibaba.com highlighted cross-border e-commerce as a key growth track amid global economic shifts, emphasizing digital tools, marketing, and supply chain support, while executives from firms like Shanghai Wareda Sunshade Equipment Co Ltd shared financial strategies for global expansion.
The launch of this service center, aligning with China's booming cross-border trade, which hit 2.63 trillion yuan ($367 billion) in 2024, is poised to inject fresh momentum into Baoshan's cross-border sector, driving the "e-commerce + industry belt" model.
