Legoland Shanghai Resort opens for trial operations
The Legoland Shanghai Resort, the world's largest Legoland to date, launched its trial operations on June 20, attracting crowds of eager visitors. By 9 am, lines stretched outside the entrance as families and young enthusiasts flocked to experience the park's 318,000-square-meter wonderland.
The resort blends iconic Legoland attractions with uniquely Chinese elements. The Big Lego Coaster, shaped like a traditional Chinese dragon, became an instant hit. Fans like Mr Li, a collector of Lego figurines, praised hidden interactive elements, such as staff-led figurine swaps.

To manage crowds, the park deployed real-time queue updates via its official app and staffed interactive games in waiting areas. Police and security teams monitored traffic and public safety, with 5,600 parking spots and temporary 2,000-space overflow areas prepared for peak demand.
During the trial phase, limited to annual pass holders and professionals, the park will refine operations based on visitor input. With its blend of cultural innovation and meticulous planning, Legoland Shanghai Resort aims to set a new benchmark for theme parks in Asia.
