M50 Creative Park heats up summer with diverse exhibitions
Shanghai's M50 Creative Park is launching its vibrant summer art season, with galleries hosting new exhibitions featuring renowned artists, offering a cultural feast for residents and visitors.
At DSZ-ART, immerse yourself in the whimsical world of Shanghai-based artist Yang Yulong. His solo exhibition, Fireworks in the Clouds, presents over 30 watercolor works. Drawing from daily life and journeys across China — from Fujian's coast to Northeast China's fields — Yang captures the optimism and love found in everyday life. Influenced by Chinese ink painting, his deliberate use of negative spaces, such as clouds, evokes beauty and longing.

French artist Seth returns with L'Enfance de l'art (The Infancy of Art) at M Art Space. His works depict global children, often blending paintings with reclaimed materials like wood from Shanghai's vanishing old lanes. His fusion of local objects creates a unique blend of Chinese and French culture.
Suomei Gallery is also drawing crowds with modern, cartoon interpretations of female characters.

M50's popularity is soaring, fueled by China's expanded visa-free policies. The first five months of 2025 saw exhibition frequency jump by 30 percent and total visitors surge over 100 percent year-on-year. This summer peak season, over 50 exhibitions across 20 venues will make M50 Creative Park — a former factory complex — into a must-visit art destination.
