Located in downtown Shanghai, Jing'an district spans 37 square kilometers and serves as a vital international showcase for the city. It boasts a highly developed office building economy, housing over 80 buildings, each generating annual tax revenue exceeding 100 million yuan ($14 million) and hosting the regional headquarters of over 100 multinational corporations. At its core is the West Nanjing Road Commercial Zone, which ranks among Shanghai's highest-capacity CBDs.

Driving Growth: The "Three Clusters" Strategy

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), Jing'an is focusing development on four core zones (Nanjing Road, Suzhou Creek, Daning, Shibei) and strengthening three key clusters:

High-end Service Cluster (West Nanjing Road): Featuring landmarks like Plaza 66, Jing An Kerry Centre, and Zhang Yuan.

Business Cluster (Suzhou Creek): Anchored by projects such as Jing'an International Center and Financial Street Rongtai Center.

Creativity Cluster (Middle Ring Road): Including hubs like Daning Business Center and the Jing'an Shibei International Sci-Tech Innovation Community.

Thriving Industries & Strategic Focus

Jing'an prioritizes six key industries: commerce and trade services, financial services, professional services, data Intelligence, cultural creativity, and life sciences and healthcare. It actively cultivates growth engines in new infrastructure, the digital economy, and the green economy.

Suzhou Creek: A Vibrant Waterfront Future

The Suzhou Creek Waterfront Economic Development Belt is a centerpiece of Jing'an's strategy. Stretching 21 km through the downtown area, this zone is designated in Shanghai's Master Plan and 14th Five-Year Plan as a future economic core. Positioned just 1 km from People's Square, it aims to be a multifunctional demonstration zone for vibrant lifestyles, leisure, and startups, significantly boosting business competitiveness.
