During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the district has accelerated the development of the G60 S&T Innovation Corridor, Songjiang New Town, and Songjiang Hub, aiming to build itself into a modernized, high-quality area centered on "innovation, culture, and ecology" that attracts residents and businesses.

Songjiang's industries follow a "6+X" framework, focusing on six strategic emerging sectors: artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, new energy, new materials, biopharmaceuticals, and intelligent security.

Key business-supporting facilities include the G60 International Electronic Information Innovation Park, G60 Biopharmaceutical Industry Base, G60 Brain Intelligence Technology Innovation Base, and Lingang Songjiang Science and Technology City.

The district provides robust policy support in advanced manufacturing, foreign investment attraction, headquarters economy development, financial incentives, and talent recruitment.
