Explore green treasures of Guyuan
The Liupan Mountain National Forest Park is located in Jingheyuan town, Jingyuan county, Guyuan, in China's Northwest Ningxia Hui autonomous region. It features a representative temperate forest ecosystem on the western Loess Plateau and serves as the source of both the Jing River and Qingshui River. As a national 4A-rated tourist attraction, the park is home to unique sites such as the ecological museum. It has received titles including China's most beautiful eco-nature tourism attraction.
Continuing westwards, the Huoshizhai National Geological (Forest) Park lies in Xiji county of Guyuan. With an elevation ranging from 1,960 to 2,650 meters, it boasts the most typical and highest Danxia landforms in northern China. Known for its four marvels – spectacular mountains, strange rocks, steep peaks, and dense forests – Huoshizhai's Danxia landforms offer breathtaking views in all seasons.

Heading 22 kilometers south of Jingyuan county lies the Laolongtan Scenic Area, the origin of the Jing River. According to legend, an old dragon once lived in the deep pool, giving the site its name. The area comprises one river, four pools, and 10 distinct scenic spots, forming a landscape that is both unique and magnificent.
The Yehe Valley is a north–south running gorge where wild lotus plants flourish along the riverbed, giving the valley its name. With its striking scenery and serene beauty, it is also an important natural habitat for Huashan pine trees within the Liupan Mountains forest region.
