On Sept 23, the historic town of Zhujiajiao in Shanghai's Qingpu district welcomed a special group of visitors: journalists and media representatives, who were in Shanghai to report on the ongoing 2025 World Rowing Championships. Their visit turned into an enchanting journey through the town's rich cultural heritage.

With flags waving and cameras clicking, the journalists explored Zhujiajiao's iconic sites, thanks to a special tour organized by the championship's committee. Highlights included Kezhi Garden, the Qing Dynasty Post Office, a serene boat ride on the canals, and hands-on crafting like wax seal making.

At Kezhi Garden, established in 1912, the visitors marveled at the classical beauty of the Jiangnan-style landscape. Patrick from the Australian Rowing Association, visiting China for the first time, was particularly impressed. "These ancient buildings and gardens are fascinating. They offer a glimpse into history," he said.

The boat ride was a standout experience. Used to the excitement of rowing courses, the journalists were delighted by the calm canals, taking in scenes of traditional houses and stone bridges that formed a living painting.

Lisa, an American journalist with extensive experience, praised the championship's organization and surroundings. "Everything is perfect," she said. She was thrilled to immerse herself in Chinese culture during her busy schedule, finding the experience both joyful and enriching.

During the championships, visitors can explore with a single ticket, enjoying Jiangnan culture at attractions like Shanghai Grand View Garden and Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, with special privileges for championship attendees.
