International experts and scholars explore the millennium-old cultural heritage of Guangfulin
From Nov 2 to 4, "Symposium on Ecological Civilization: From the Two Mountains concept to global action strategies" was held in Shanghai's Songjiang district.
Nearly 100 experts and scholars from over 20 countries, including China, the US, the UK, France, and Germany, gathered to discuss China's ecological civilization practices and global strategies.
Besides engaging in academic discussions, participants visited the Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park and Shanghai Fangta Garden to explore the cultural heritage of Songjiang district. At the Guangfulin exhibition hall, many scholars were fascinated by Shanghai's 6,000-year-old cultural history.
They explored the Neolithic Liangzhu culture and the lifestyle of ancient villages. Paul Shrivastava, management and organization professor at Pennsylvania State University, USA, pointed out that the tree roots at the entrance represent origins, highlighting the significance of remembering where humans come from.
Christopher Mbanefo, founder and CEO of YASAVA Solutions SA in Aerospace Design, was surprised by Songjiang district's peaceful environment. "What has impressed me is the number of vehicles. I took a walk around and also noticed the silence of the traffic," he said.
At Shanghai Fangta Garden, experts appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and ancient structures. The tranquil setting and historical importance of the site made a lasting impression on visitors, reinforcing their bond with China's rich cultural history.
