A golden path beckons: Baoshan's whispering ginkgo avenue

In Shanghai's Baoshan district, a quiet autumn gem now softly glows beneath the winter sun along Meilanhu Road. Extending nearly 1 kilometer north to the Lake Meilan International Convention Center, this newly designated "fallen leaves scenic path" is marked not by a sign, but by a gentle apricot-colored line on the pavement.

Two rows of ginkgo trees form a golden canopy overhead, their interlaced branches filtering sunlight into shimmering flecks that dance upon the ground. With each breeze, leaves drift down, their crisp rustling underfoot becoming a gentle, rhythmic soundtrack to the walk.

As evening falls, streetlamps cast a warm glow, turning the ginkgo leaves into translucent golden wings. Here, young passersby often pause, drawn by the soft whisper of fallen leaves — a moment of quiet beauty in the city's rush. This path is more than just a scenic route — it's a tender invitation to slow down, to listen, and to savor the quiet poetry of autumn in Baoshan.
