Once considered far from Shanghai's city center, Fengxian district is rapidly transforming into an industrial and residential hub. This shift is driven by its growing focus on high-end sectors, including skincare and semiconductor manufacturing.

Oriental Beauty Valley has emerged as a key hub for the beauty economy, while rural areas are embracing innovation with coffee shops and drone-assisted agriculture. Fengxian district is successfully merging traditional charm with modern advancements.

Liu Ping, Fengxian district's Party secretary, highlighted the district's commitment to niche industries, such as chemical reagents and the emerging low-altitude economy. These sectors are attracting both overseas returnees and entrepreneurs, further strengthening Fengxian’s position as a competitive player in Shanghai's economic landscape.
