Shanghai's Pudong New Area has strengthened its position as a global innovation hub with the addition of five major enterprises to its Group Open Innovation (GOI) initiative.
The newly inducted members are the Honeywell China Innovation Center, Infineon (Shanghai) Joint Innovation Space, Delphi Automotive Systems Open Innovation Center, OPM Biomanufacturing Open Innovation Center, and Espressif Technology Innovation Empowerment Center.
The total number of large enterprise open innovation centers in Pudong now stands at 108, creating a robust innovation cluster that spans 12 countries across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The cluster encompasses 13 core technological fields, establishing a global science and technology innovation ecosystem.
Launched in July 2021, the GOI initiative leverages the resources and global networks of large enterprises to integrate SMEs and tech start-ups into the innovation chain, fostering the transformation of R&D centers into open innovation centers.
