Shanghai invites global collaborations at coffee industry conference
Shanghai hosted the Hongqiao International Coffee Industry Chain Ecosystem Conference on May 19, where it extended an invitation for international partnerships.
Su Lin, vice-president of the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, emphasized the city's role in the global coffee industry, describing it as a "chain of friendship" that welcomes quality products from around the world into China.
She highlighted Shanghai's status as a leading gateway for international exchange, noting the city boasts over 10,000 coffee shops, making coffee a vibrant symbol of Shanghai's urban identity.
Tran Huy Hung, the consul-general of Vietnam in Shanghai, underscored Vietnam's position as the world's second-largest coffee producer and expressed a desire for enhanced coffee trade between Vietnam and China.
The conference gathered industry leaders to engage in discussions about partnerships, trade, innovation, and market trends. It provided a comprehensive platform for dialogue across the entire coffee supply chain, focusing on industry consolidation, specialty coffee, technology, market segmentation, and international cooperation.
