Shanghai hosted the Hongqiao International Coffee Industry Chain Ecosystem Conference on May 19, where it extended an invitation for international partnerships.

Su Lin, vice-president of the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, emphasized the city's role in the global coffee industry, describing it as a "chain of friendship" that welcomes quality products from around the world into China.

She highlighted Shanghai's status as a leading gateway for international exchange, noting the city boasts over 10,000 coffee shops, making coffee a vibrant symbol of Shanghai's urban identity.

Tran Huy Hung, the consul-general of Vietnam in Shanghai, underscored Vietnam's position as the world's second-largest coffee producer and expressed a desire for enhanced coffee trade between Vietnam and China.

The conference gathered industry leaders to engage in discussions about partnerships, trade, innovation, and market trends. It provided a comprehensive platform for dialogue across the entire coffee supply chain, focusing on industry consolidation, specialty coffee, technology, market segmentation, and international cooperation.
