Qingpu shows its low-altitude ecosystem at intl expo

Shanghai's Qingpu district held a dedicated promotion at the 2026 Shanghai International Advanced Air Mobility Expo, featuring a 700-square-meter exhibition zone with nearly 30 enterprises spanning the full value chain.

The centerpiece was a local company's all-electric "Shengshilong" passenger electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL), capable of vertical takeoff without runways, with a 2,400 kg maximum weight and a 200 km range. It has entered compliance verification for type certification.

Qingpu's aircraft lineup also includes amphibious planes for cross-water logistics and low-altitude tourism, as well as multi-role drones for smart farming, urban inspection, and emergency firefighting.

Beyond airframes, Qingpu is building an ecosystem anchored by the Beidou Xihongqiao Base, which is home to Huace Navigation Technology Co and other companies. The district integrates flight control, communications, and sensing into a "R&D-Manufacturing-Operations-Scenarios" matrix.

At the expo, Xihongqiao Navigation Technology Co presented a low-altitude management platform using Beidou high-precision positioning, spatiotemporal big data, and digital twin technology, offering real-time monitoring, planning, AI diagnostics, and asset management.

In 2025, Qingpu's low-altitude output reached 9 billion yuan ($1.3 billion) among large-scale enterprises, up 17.55 percent year-on-year.

The district has leveraged its cluster of express delivery hubs — YTO, ZTO, Yunda, and Shentong — to establish regular cross-provincial cargo routes to Suzhou. Meanwhile, Lianshi Navigation's intelligent farms enable fully automated farming, and 5G drone platforms perform routine patrols. 

Qingpu also plans a low-altitude testing ground for cross-regional logistics and integrated water-air-ground test scenarios, leveraging its waterways and airspace to provide critical infrastructure for industry players.

During the expo, the district's investment promotion teams held targeted talks with exhibitors, and several firms expressed interest in follow‑up collaboration.
