China's acclaimed dance drama Wing Chun is set to premiere in North America on Dec 16, bringing a blend of art and Chinese kung fu to the global stage.
As the thrilling martial arts duel between five masters concluded on stage, prolonged cheers and applause erupted in London's Sadler's Wells Theater, a common scene during the overseas tour of the Chinese dance drama Wing Chun.
A production fusing modern dance and ancient Chinese martial arts has been praised as a landmark that will inspire people for years to come as it ended a run of performances in London on Sept 7.
The worlds of dance and martial arts may not have the most obvious crossover, but lovers of both art forms will head to Sadler's Wells dance theater in north London this week to see Wing Chun.
Wing Chun premiered in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, in December and will tour nationwide in 2023, with 80 shows in more than 30 cities.
