A group of government leaders from East China's Zhejiang province, led by Che Jun, Party secretary of Zhejiang, visited three schools in Hangzhou, the capital city, on the eve of the annual International Children's Day on May 31.

Hangzhou Wenlan Future Sci-Tech School and Wenxi Primary School are two newly- built institutions that provide education opportunities for non-local employees' children.

During the visits, a group of young pioneers crowded around the leaders and tied red scarves for them. Che wished them a happy Children's Day and offered them holiday gifts.

Students also gave them a wonderful gala along with many artistic creations, including paintings and calligraphy, which were admired by the leaders.

Che urged students to cultivate different interests while learning the textbook knowledge.

Preschool education marks the beginning of life-long learning, said Che at Hangzhou Xilu kindergarten, adding that schools should take good care of the children and give them a better study environment by improving facilities and teaching quality.
