A selection of 50 fine silk products from East China's Zhejiang province were among the star attractions  at a themed silk exhibition in Paris, the capital of France, on June 5.

Co-hosted by the China Cultural Center in Paris and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, the exhibition, with the focus on the art and designs of Chinese silk, is one of the highlights of a series of cultural activities for the China-France Cultural Year 2018.

Revolving around embroidery, printing, weaving and dyeing techniques, the exhibition showcases not only the charm of traditional crafting techniques of Chinese silk art, but also creative elements through an array of featured activities.

Cultural ties between China and France escalated after a cultural exhibition 13 years ago. Over the decades, the province has held 21 "Zhejiang Cultural Week" activities in over 18 countries, aiming to lift Zhejiang's global influence and boost cultural exchanges between China and other countries, according to an official from Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture.

Yan Zhenquan, head of the China Cultural Center in Paris, said that this year is destined to be a remarkable one for the center with a series of cultural festivals, which allow French visitors to experience the beauty of Zhejiang.

It is hoped that this exhibition will serve as a bridge for China and France to further cooperate and boost exchanges among different countries.
