A photo exhibition held to commemorate two famous writers in China and the United States, Lu Xun and Mark Twain, will open in Los Angeles, the United States, on June 15.

Launched with the hope of enhancing cultural exchanges between China and the US, the exhibition, which runs for a week, will highlight the life stories and great achievements of the two literary masters as well as the history and cultural development of Shaoxing, the birthplace of Lu in East China’s Zhejiang province.

As a part of the annual cultural exchange event “Dialogue between Masters 2018”, the exhibition aims to provide an opportunity for American people to gain a better understanding of Chinese culture, especially Lu, who represents the spirit of modern China, through art and literature.

Lu (1881-1936) and Twain (1835-1910) represent the most influential men of letters in China and the United States. Though born in different countries, their works have made great contributions to the development of literature in the two nations.
