Former prime minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd, attended Wenzhou Business College's commencement June 10 and extended his best wishes to graduates.

Rudd, an old friend of WBC who has twice paid visits to the school, in November 2016 and June 2017, delivered a commencement speech encouraging graduates to learn from history, follow their dreams, and develop their interests while observing social morality and being true to themselves.

"Don't be afraid of making mistakes; be courageous to make attempts," Rudd said.

Famous across China as an entrepreneurial hotspot, Wenzhou has raised a large diaspora of businesspeople who have left the region to start businesses around the world.

WBC aims to develop talents in the service of Wenzhou's international development and transition into a national pilot zone for financial reform, and a modern service and port logistics center for south Zhejiang.

The college now offers 23 undergraduate programs centered on economics and management science while also reaching cooperative agreements with such international institutions as the University of Melbourne, the University of Sydney and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
