Zhejiang under media spotlight at national two sessions

The Q&A part helped Zhejiang present its image and highlight its efforts on reform and innovation to the world.

When asked about Zhejiang's plans for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region by a reporter of Voice of China, Che said Zhejiang is a major participant, an active booster and a beneficiary in the regional development.

"Zhejiang should seize the opportunities and push forward a batch of good projects to contribute to the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region," said the Party chief.

Zhang Tianren, chairman of Tianneng Group, shared his experience of running businesses in Zhejiang over the past three decades. He said since last year, the central and provincial governments have released many policies and measures to support the growth of private businesses, which has reassured entrepreneurs in the private sector.

Medical researcher Ding Lieming, also chairman of Zhejiang Betta Pharmaceuticals Co Ltd, revealed that the company is applying for market access of two new kinds of medicines when asked about the possibilities of producing more cheap anti-cancer medical treatment. Ding explained that the key to price reduction is independent innovation.

A reporter from Reuters asked Li Shufu, founder and chairman of Geely Group how the traditional auto industry could gain more competitive edges in opening-up and cooperation. Li responded with the assertion that the majority of automakers around the globe are striving to produce smarter cars and so is Geely. 

"The intelligent auto industry is very big and only by opening-up and collaborations can real progress be made," said Li, adding that Geely is working hard on the research and development of automatic driving and on-board chips.
