Zhejiang joins hands with telecom giants on 5G Plus

East China's Zhejiang province, in collaboration with Chinese telecommunications giants, released a 5G Plus scheme in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, April 28.

Under the guidance of the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Zhejiang announced it would partner with China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Tower to focus on the construction of a 5G network and the integrated development of 5G technology and other fields, in the hope of injecting more vitality into the province's digital economy.

More than 100 domestic and international companies and research institutes, including Alibaba Group, Huawei, Zhejiang Lab and Zhejiang University, attended the scheme-release ceremony.

Zhejiang government unveiled the implementation scheme to accelerate the development of the 5G industry. The scheme outlines some key tasks for 5G development and applications, such as strengthening efforts in infrastructure and cultivating a group of leading companies and industrial platforms.

The four Chinese telecommunications giants, as well as other leading companies, introduced some advanced 5G products and solutions on the same day, demonstrating their successful attempts to apply 5G technology in the fields of manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, future communities, and security and protection.
