An international hospital jointly developed by the UK-based International Hospitals Group (China) and Hangzhou Keyi Property Development Co officially broke ground in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on May 9.

With an investment of 940 million yuan ($138.18 million), the 38,500-square-meter hospital is slated to be the first comprehensive international hospital in the city and will be managed by International Hospitals Group (China).

As an international medical service platform with global high-end resources and advanced technologies, the new facility will accommodate 226 beds in a wide range of departments, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, and cardiovascular.

Other high-end personalized services such as establishing personal health records, maternity centers, and nursing services for the aged will also be provided in the hospital.

It is expected that the hospital will provide supporting facilities for scientific and technological innovation and talent introduction in Xiaoshan district, and boost the international development of the district.
