A freight train carrying 102 containers of Chinese goods headed to Central Asia from Jinhua, Zhejiang province on July 17.

The train will leave China via Khorgos Port and is expected to arrive in the Central Asian countries within two weeks.

Garments, shoes, home appliances and plumbing materials from Jinhua and neighboring cities Wenzhou, Jiaxing, Taizhou and Shaoxing are being transported on the train.

This is the 100th trip on the Jinhua-Central Asia railway express since the route was launched two years ago. Currently, there are two to three trains a week transporting goods between Jinhua and Central Asia.

In the first half of 2019, a total of 33 trains headed to Central Asia from Jinhua, a year-on-year increase of 37.5 percent. Goods worth 786 million yuan ($114.27 million) were transported via the trains, up 37.8 percent from the previous year.

The robust growth can be attributed to the local customs office. Jinhua Customs has released a slew of measures to facilitate the clearance of goods, including increased cooperation with railway authorities and public security departments.

"Jinhua Customs has dispatched elite staff to ensure the operation of Jinhua-Central Asia trains," said Ni Xiaojun, an official from the customs office, adding that next they will introduce large equipment for security checks to further improve efficiency.
