Projects, scenic villages promote tourism in Huzhou

In a bid to boost local tourism, Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has been focusing on developing tourism projects and scenic villages in recent years.

Statistics show that Huzhou received 25.2 million tourists in the first half of the year and generated 79.5 billion yuan ($11.32 billion) in revenue, up 19 percent and 18 percent year-on-year, respectively. 

A total of 160 key projects worth around 153.5 billion yuan are under construction in the city.

In particular, Taihu Longzhimeng Paradise, with an investment of 25.1 billion yuan, has become a popular tourist destination in the Yangtze River Delta region, attracting 238,000 visitors during the May Day holiday.

The city has also established 428 provincial A-level scenic villages, among which 64 are 3A-level, and they play an important role in boosting the city's tourism, according to local tourism authorities.

In addition, a 100-kilometer sightseeing avenue was built to offer tourists stunning views of the city's scenery.
