Two new logos for cultural exchanges between Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, and Verona, Italy will be launched, local media reported on Aug 19.

There will be one logo for Wansong Academy and another for cultural exchanges between Hangzhou and Verona, Italy.

Wansong Academy, located near West Lake, was among the top four academies in Hangzhou during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing dynasties (1644-1911). The academy is known for the romance of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, while Verona is the setting for the love story between Romeo and Juliet.

As such, the cultural exchange programs between Hangzhou and Verona will revolve around romance culture.

In March, Hangzhou and Verona signed a friendship agreement to promote their respective sites inscribed on UNESCO's world heritage list and advance cooperation and communication in the culture and tourism sectors.

To date, a total of 25 design works for Wansong Academy and 21 for cultural exchanges between Hangzhou and Verona have been received. The winning works for each category will be put into official use after being polished by experts.
