Zhejiang province proved its popularity among tourists during the past Mid-Autumn Festival by attracting 6.16 million visitors to 189 of the province's national 4A- and 5A-level scenic spots on Sept 13-15.

The majority of tourists traveled with their family or alone, drove themselves, and came mainly from within the province and elsewhere in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Statistics show that the top five sources of domestic tourists were Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Henan and Beijing, and the top five sources of overseas tourists were South Korea, the United States, Japan, Canada and Malaysia.

Hangzhou, capital of the province, provided much convenience to tourists with its "City Brain" system during the festival.

The "City Brain", initiated by Alibaba Group's cloud computing arm Alibaba Cloud in 2017, is a cloud-powered and artificial intelligence-driven urban traffic management system that aims to boost the city's overall efficiency.

After over two years of testing in Alibaba's home base, the system has now expanded from transportation management to parking, medical treatment, housing, tourism, public security and market regulation.

With the system, tourists are able to check into hotels and scenic spots within as little as 30 seconds.
