The Zhejiang Exhibition Hall and Zhejiang Outdoor Garden received Organizing Committee Awards for outstanding domestic exhibition halls and Chinese outdoor garden respectively, at the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition on Oct 8.

The two awards represent the highest honor for any participating province or region at the expo. 

"The Zhejiang garden impressed us with its green landscapes and advanced technology," said Bernard Oosterom, chair of the International Association of Horticultural Producers.

Oosterom added that the Zhejiang Outdoor Garden is not only an outstanding example of garden design and Zhejiang culture, but also a reflection of the progress the province has made in pursuing green development.

According to Hong Zhaolong, manager of the Zhejiang garden, the garden won the honor thanks to its exquisite design and construction.

"We used more than 600 plant varieties from Zhejiang to showcase the province's unique character," said Hong.
