In early September this year, Wuzhen and BroadXT inked an agreement for the application of 5G autonomous buses in the Chinese town.

According to the agreement, the 110-square kilometer Wuzhen will be covered with intelligent networked transportation system in three years.

As a permanent site for the World Internet Conference, Wuzhen serves as a platform for China’s interconnectivity and internet technology sharing with international communities.

Officials said Wuzhen has always stayed in the front of new industries, new economies and new technologies and is also a strong driver for smart city construction in China.

Zhu said that by the end of this year, four cities in East China, including Hangzhou, will launch a total of four routes for the autonomous bus.

In 2020, the figure will be increased to 14 including cities in the Yangtze River Delta region, such as Shanghai, Suzhou, and Ningbo.
